Job Duties
- Fabric Selection: Assist clients in choosing suitable fabrics for their curtains based on factors such as color, texture, durability, and light filtration. Knowledge of different fabric types including cotton, linen, silk, velvet, and polyester is crucial.
- Measurement and Cutting: Take accurate measurements of windows and calculate fabric requirements. Cut fabric to the required dimensions, ensuring precision and minimal waste.
- Sewing and Assembly: Use sewing machines, sergers, and hand-stitching techniques to sew curtains and draperies. Pay close attention to seam allowances, hems, and pleats to ensure a polished finish. Skillfully attach linings, headers, and trims as per client preferences.
- Installation Preparation: Collaborate with installation teams to prepare curtains for installation. Add features such as grommets, hooks, or tabs for easy hanging. Ensure that curtain panels are properly labeled and packaged for transport to client locations.
- Quality Control: Conduct thorough quality checks at each stage of the production process to ensure that curtains meet the highest standards of craftsmanship and durability. Address any defects or inconsistencies promptly.
- Client Communication: Communicate effectively with clients to understand their design preferences, budget constraints, and timeline expectations. Provide recommendations regarding fabric choices, styles, and embellishments based on client requirements.
- Maintenance and Repairs: Offer maintenance advice to clients to prolong the lifespan of their curtains. Provide repair services for damaged curtains, including mending tears, replacing hardware, and restyling as needed.
