The Customer Service Agent role reports directly to the Assistant Manager, in the Operations Environment. The incumbent of this role is responsible to perform cargo handling functions, customer service, updating systems information in the operations environment, conforming to standard operation procedures Minimum Requirements… Grade 12 or equivalent qualification at NQF level 4 Diploma / Degree in a relevant field at NQF level 6 will be an advantage A minimum of 6 – 12months experience in a comparable environment Prepare to undergo in-house training and successfully complete the following: Air Cargo, System related courses, Dangerous Goods Regulations Category 6 and 8, Security awareness training and compliance to airport regulatory requirements, Customer Service Training, Live Animals Regulations, and Perishables Cargo Regulations, I Cargo Job Specification… Be able to operate of cargo Handling equipment (Forklifts,tractors,vehicles • Receive payments form Agents and clients in form of cash, cheques and credit cards • Maintain correct balances in the Cash Box • Generate Revenue and ensuring no loss of revenue by checking air waybills for correct rates applied • Safeguarding of companies income by following security policies • Maintain good relationship with clients • Receiving and checking in of Cargo • Ensure integrity of System information • Notify the Captain of Aircraft in vase of Live Stock, Dangerous Goods and Perishables • Ensure tracking and tracing on all mishandled, damage and missing cargo • Process documentation; update system information and manifest all cargo on specific flights • Ensure weight statements for each flight for weight & balance purposes • Load freighter aircraft equipment and unit load device control • Scan all cargo loaded into ULD Equipment • Load departure and arrival flights in I Cargo System • Ensure Express cargo connects on applicable flights • Ensure valuable cargo is loaded and final destination advised as well as relevant security measures applied KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Basic Computer Literacy (MS Word) Knowledge of the SARS documents and procedures Negotiation Skills Communication Skills (Verbal & Written) ATTRIBUTES Customer Services Ordination Problem solving Interpersonal Skills Assertive with strong numerical ability Flexibility to work irregular shifts Able to work under pressure OTHER Must be prepared to work shifts inclusive of night shifts Must be in a possession of valid drivers license and forklift license Prepare to rotate within operations PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: The onus is on the applicant to prove that he/she meets the minimum requirements, therefore please ensure that your CV is detailed enough, in other words, makes reference to qualifications, knowledge, skills, experience (inclusive of duties, tenure, designation etc.) and attributes.
