MARULA PLATINUM LIMITED Daily Buyer - C2 INTERNAL/EXTERNAL ADVERTISEMENT DATE OF DISTRIBUTION 07.06.2023 CLOSING DATE 16.06.2023 PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To tender and procure goods and services in area of responsibility (commodity) MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: 3 Years tertiary qualification in Commerce or Business is essential 2 years working experience in the Procurement Department is essential 2 years experience as a Buyer in the mining environment is essential Computer literacy (MS Word & MS Excel) & SAP PTP module is essential Must have good financial control skills and understanding of basic accounting practices Must have a valid drivers licence to conduct site meetings Must have good interpersonal skills to communicate with internal and external clients is essential Must demonstrate knowledge and application of ethical conduct Valid medical certificate or be medically fit in order to obtain such certificate DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Analyse Purchase Requisitions to determine if sufficient details was provided to conduct a proper market survey in the form of RFQs or formal tenders Ensure that all Technical Specifications, Scope of Work and bill of quantities is correct Ensuring that all procurement policies and work procedures are followed and adhere to Ensuring that orders placed are cost effective without sacrificing quality or supplier service levels Identifying repetitive special purchases that need to be moved to contracts and liaise with contract buyers to ensure that the items are added to the contract Evaluating all quotations and select suppliers based on prescribed criteria, all Technical specifications and Scope of Work (Transformation status of Supplier, Description, Price, Lead times) Ensuring expediting of purchases to enforce agreed lead times Achieve accredited BEE spend targets and increase spend on local tier one suppliers Communicating with originator about products or supplier changes, if suggested supplier is not used or if there are process delays Answering or directing all originator queries regarding special purchases e.g. order status or potential delivery delays Proactively searching for, evaluating and suggesting alternative suppliers for sub-commodities Must assist with relieving and other administrative activities in the procurement department SHORTLISTED CANDIDATES MAY BE SUBJECTED TO PSYCHOMETRIC ASSESSMENTS - MARULA PLATINUM LTD RESERVES THE RIGHT NOT TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT.
