Purpose of the Role: The purpose of our Data Science team is to focus on the most complicated problems facing our industry and creating data products that can be deployed at scale to our customers. The work spans across acquisition, retention, trading, compliance and product. As such the applicant should be comfortable understanding and delivering projects across multiple areas of the business. The candidate will also be expected to mentor existing members of the team. Duties include, but not limited to: Develop, monitor, and maintain data transformation processes Develop models using Big Data and statistical methodologies to answer business requirements Applying analysis techniques on a range of projects such as customer behavioural change, effects of marketing, customer segmentation, recommendations, and automated sports trading Full project lifecycle management, through design, estimation, analysis, deployment and presentation whilst communicating effectively with key stakeholders Take an active role in updating team processes to continuously improve performance and delivery Effectively deploy models into production at scale Independently align oneself with the business needs and building strong business relationships Create reports periodically highlighting the key metrics from the work you produce Mentor team in areas of expertise Be a role model for everybody else in the team in all interactions and delivery This is not intended to be an exhaustive list of responsibilities. Essential Criteria: Demonstrated knowledge of techniques including machine learning, generalised linear modelling, logistic regression, time series analysis, bayesian methods, neural networks and complex data manipulation/processing skills in order to build models Expertise in creating end-to-end data flows with periodic triggering A proven ability to think laterally to solve problems Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong presentation skills with a proven ability to explain technical problems to non-technically minded business personnel Able to work autonomously and as part of a team, helping push the team forward Expertise in using programming languages such as R or Python to analyse, transform, and visualise big data, as well as to implement machine learning algorithms Strong understanding of data/analytical tools including Database querying (SQL) or NoSQL Experience with Cloud Technologies, preferably Microsoft Azure Exposure to K8s or docker technologies for implementing scalable infrastructure An interest in Sports Desirable Criteria: Experience in Java/C# Understanding of LLMs and how they can be utilised to improve business processes and customer experience Demonstrated experience of data transformation techniques, such as Event hub captures, Elastic Search and conversions to Parquet files in the Data Lake Industry knowledge of sports trading, marketing or online gaming beneficial Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Data Science, Engineering or quantitative discipline Person Specifications: Problem Solving Communication Presenting with Impact Collaboration Please note we will apply relevance to our Talent Management and Talent Development Programme as part of our recruitment process.
