Data Services/Extended Hours Associate (Remote South Africa; US Hours Weekend Schedule) Department: Operations Employment Type: Temporary Location: Capetown, SA Reporting To: Director, Research Services Description Note: This is a fixed term contract to replace the current incumbent who is on parental leave (which we estimate will be for a period of 4 months). Should there be any changes in the duration you will be notified with a month's notice. The Data Services/Extended Hours Associate is a temporary contract role that will support both the Data Services and Extended Hours teams. Your role will report to the Research Services Director and you will support the Project Management team in their project and data-related needs during high capacity times. You will be a vital part of helping us grow the overall Research Services operations to meet the needs of our clients, and you will be relied upon for your attention to detail and responsiveness in executing team needs. During the weekdays, you will work on the Data Services queue carrying out data cleaning and survey support. On Saturdays and Sundays, you will be working autonomously on the Extended Hours queue, acting as an extension of the Project Management team to deliver on weekend project sampling goals. You will be extensively trained and provided instructions to handle each project independently over the weekend. SCHEDULE This position is a WEEKEND position and is aligned with US hours. The shift for this position aligns with US business hours in Central Time, which equates to 3pm - 12am SAT from March to November and 4pm - 1am SAT from November to March. During the training period, the employee is expected to work Monday - Friday US Central Time hours of 8am - 5pm CT (equating to 3pm - 12am SAT during the training period in March/April). After initial training is completed, the employee is expected to work Friday - Tuesday US Central Time hours of 8am - 5pm CT (equating to 3pm-12am from March to November and 4pm - 1am SAT from November until March). Another option after training is completed is to work 4 10-hour days spanning the weekend (Friday to Monday). This role is fully remote position and is open to candidates who are currently authorized to work in South Africa and reside in South Africa. What you will do: Lead aspects of project delivery, including client communication, project execution, sample adjustment, client updates, and issue resolution Provide project coverage for live projects and be able to support project setup, link testing, daily status reports, fielding recommendations, supplier updates, and DIY sample management. Communicate project handoff details and potential challenges to Primary Project managers maintaining a coverage notes log for each project Execute data validation, data cleaning, and data processing activities using advanced formulas with extreme attention to detail Read and qualify survey responses for clarity and relevance to questions in a variety of applications including awareness, favorability, recommendation, etc Digest data and make recommendations for Quality Assurance using Microsoft Excel and other statistical software tools Structure, manipulate, and combine large and complex data sets Proactively provide recommendations for process improvements and efficiencies What you bring: Required: 1 years of services or operations experience in a client-facing environment working with spreadsheet formulas and large data sets Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including knowledge of advanced formulas, VLOOKUP, and pivot tables Native-like fluency in business English, with a wide knowledge of various professional terms from different industries An at-home fibre internet connection with a minimum speed of 20 Mbps is a requirement of the position Preferred: Knowledge and experience of DIY sampling platforms, and co-ordination of sample collection across a variety of vendors and clients is highly preferred Survey scripting skills preferred (Qualtrics, Decipher, Sawtooth, etc.) Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience Attributes: An energetic self-starter with a proactive attitude who can learn quickly Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision Technical aptitude and comfort in learning new work management programs Positive attitude and focus on building trusting relationships Takes pride in their work, is organized, and detail-oriented Always strives to deliver results by being solution-oriented and a team player Is flexible and embraces change to help make the business successful What we offer: Competitive base salary Employer-provided medical stipend Flexible time off program Company-provided computer An opportunity to work with some of the best and brightest in the market research industry and drive large-scale innovation in restech (Research Technology) Apply Now
