Dealership Stock Controller - Midrand

Fast moving vehicle brand dealership based in Midrand is looking for a Vehicle Stock Controller to join their growing team.

Duties:
  • Stock takes of vehicles on Autobid
  • Opening and closing of vehicle admin orders
  • Processing of payment requisitions
  • Invoicing vehicles for cash and finance deals
  • Invoicing vehicles for dealer swops and interbranch transfers
  • Receiving and stocking of vehicles
  • Compiling of floorplan reports of vehicles to be settled on Wesbank floorplan
  • Settle sold vehicles on STD bank floorplan
  • Loading of used vehicles on floorplan
  • Transfer of demo vehicles on floorplan
  • Licensing and registration of demo vehicles
  • Requesting Natis documents form banks for vehicles settled
  • Dealer stock of used vehicles
  • Administration of monthly Fleet/Demo/DAF/Incentive Claims to the Brand head office
  • Ordering, conducting QA and releasing of new vehicles on IAL System
  • Various other admin and dealership related duties as set out by the Dealer Principal

Skills and Requirements:
  • At least 3 years in a similar position
  • Inventory Management: Proficiency in managing vehicle inventory, including tracking stock levels, conducting regular audits, and ensuring accurate records of incoming and outgoing vehicles
  • Organization and Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain organized stockyards and storage areas, ensuring vehicles are properly labeled, arranged, and easily accessible. Attention to detail is essential for accurately recording vehicle details, including make, model, VIN, and condition.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication with sales, service, and finance departments to coordinate vehicle movements, deliveries, and transfers. Clear communication is also vital for updating stakeholders on stock availability and status.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of vehicle makes, models, features, and specifications to accurately identify and classify vehicles in stock. Knowledge of automotive terminology and industry standards is beneficial.
  • Computer Proficiency: Competence in using inventory management software and dealership management systems (DMS) to input, update, and track vehicle information. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet software for data analysis and reporting.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Capability to address discrepancies, resolve stock-related issues, and implement corrective actions to maintain accurate inventory records and prevent stock shortages or overages.
  • Time Management: Efficiently prioritize tasks, handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously, and meet deadlines for vehicle deliveries, inspections, and documentation.
  • Customer Service Orientation: Understanding the importance of providing excellent customer service, including promptly responding to inquiries about vehicle availability, scheduling test drives, and facilitating vehicle purchases.
  • The successful candidate will have to ensure that they effectively manage vehicle inventory, streamline operations, and contribute to the overall success of the dealership.
