Job Title: Design and Development Engineer. Division: Widney Transport Component's. Area: Alberton. Closing Date: Monday, 01 April 2024. Widney Transport Components is a supplier of specialist commercial vehicle glass and sliding window solutions. The company supplies solutions to the bus and train industry and is the only local accredited sliding window supplier for Toyota, Daimler Chrysler, General Motors, Nissan and Ford. Widney is seeking a skilled Project Manager to lead our initiatives in designing, developing, and implementing products and business solutions to elevate our standards and meet customer specifications. As a Project Manager, you will: Lead projects related to product development, process improvement, and new business initiatives, ensuring efficient implementation to support our objectives and enhance customer satisfaction. Conceptualize, design, fabricate, test, and implement products to improve efficiencies and meet customer requirements within project plans and budgets. Maintain comprehensive documentation for all products and processes, ensuring accuracy and accessibility. Identify and implement continuous product and process improvements to drive cost reduction and enhance efficiency. Foster effective relationships with stakeholders to manage project deadlines, budgets, and requirements. Manage project budgets effectively to control costs and ensure profitability and return on investment. Facilitate communication among stakeholders to support informed decision-making. Critical Requirements: Qualifications: Grade 12; National Diploma or B Tech in Mechanical Engineering. Knowledge: Proficiency in product and process design, analytical problem-solving techniques. Skills: Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint); CAD solid modelling; mathematical ability; project management; budgeting; facilitation; problem-solving; detail-oriented; interpersonal; communication (verbal and written); presentation; time management; analytical; planning and organization. Experience: Minimum 3 years in a design environment; minimum 3 years of engineering experience; 2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
