JOB DESCRIPTION Textile Designer Permanent - Office Based The opportunity: An exciting opportunity has been created in Jet Home for a talented, passionate and creative textile designer who is looking to join a dynamic growing brand and team. We are looking for a candidate who has a great eye for colour and pattern with expertise in print and textile designs techniques. Responsibilities: A great eye for colour and pattern with expertise in print and textile designs techniques The ability to create and develop prints/designs in line with graphic direction, look and theme presented by trend team Ability to understand trend brief accurately and translate according to customer profile and Jet brand An in depth understanding of print production and technical requirements Skill in managing workflow and liaising with suppliers, while working within a team Comment on strike-off approvals and bulk and all factory communication from concept to production Comfortable presenting your designs and receiving feedback Staying abreast of Trend and doing the necessary research, both locally and internationally Minimum 3-5 years full-time industry experience Knowledge of Adobe creative suite An understanding of in store translation (Visual Merchandising) is advantageous Requirements: Tertiary qualification Minimum 3 to 5 years industry experience Practical knowledge print production Excellent skills in Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop, and Microsoft Office Behaviours: Ability to implement effective solutions in a fast-paced environment. Excellent planning, organising and multi-tasking ability required. Time management is key. High level of commitment Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively Have a high degree of decision-making ability and be service orientated Interpersonal skills, assertive and able to communicate at all levels, as well as present to large groups Agility and team player mind-set a must Preference will be given, but not limited to candidates from designated groups in terms of the Employment Equity Act.
