A Logistics is seeking to employ a Despatch Clerk at their Durban Facilities. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Obtain load plan instruction. Check in the warehouse where the cargo is located and ensure all cargo as per plan is available and in good condition for loading. Receive any cargo from HFS (Handover) for loading – follow the hand over process – verify cargo matches as per picking list and ensure cargo is loaded accordingly. Instruct the forklift drivers what to load, how to load and when to load. Instruct truck drivers of tying down requirements, ensuring they comply, and load is secured in order according to our instructions. Ensure all cargo is loaded in good order and condition. Ensure all cargo is loaded according to loading plan and any discrepancies reported to supervisors immediately. If any cargo is damaged – ensure an incident report is done and communicated through to the Supervisor. A full report and photographic records to be provided. Ensure all procedures and processes are adhered to for the dispatch process – confirm cargo, check cargo, load cargo, verify correct cargo loaded and process paperwork accordingly. Making sure all photos of loaded vehicle are taken and recorded on the system. Ensure all documentation given to the drivers corresponds with cargo loaded. Checking load is correctly and safely loaded and ensure the load is tied down properly. Ensure any loads which require supervisor or Manager inspection prior to departure are inspected. Liaise with Supervisors or Managers accordingly during loading. Ensure Haz vehicles are compliant prior to loading. Ensure all checklists are completed per load and all is in order with cargo and vehicles prior to departure. Ensure the operation flows smoothly and efficiently and no delays experienced unnecessarily. SKILLS Excellent command of the English language (both written and verbal) is essential. The ability to multi-task and work under pressure The ability to follow specific instructions and guidelines and follow customer specific requirements per load and per documentation batch. Think out of the box and identify problems and take the initiative to investigate and solve queries with the assistance of your Supervisor when needed The ability to work independently and prioritize workload. Strong ability to pay attention to detail and focus amongst a busy environment. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS MATRIC – GRADE 12 Minimum 2 years' experience in a Dispatch Clerk / Tally Clerk function Ability to work shifts – Day shift and night shift. Available to work weekends as and when required. Availability to stand in for clerks or other shifts when required. Own transport preferred. Contract Type – 3 Months Fixed-term, with possibility to become permanent or extend thereafter. Salary – R12,925.56 (NBCRFLI category code 18) Apply Now
