Despatch Supervisor/Manager - Athlone
Job Summary:We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Despatch Supervisor/Manager to join our team at Argon Steel. The Despatch Supervisor/Manager will oversee all aspects of route planning, vehicle loading, driver supervision, and logistics coordination to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of our products to customers. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to continuous improvement in logistics operations.Key Responsibilities:Safely and efficiently perform assigned processes to meet the required daily logistics activities.Collaborate and communicate effectively with drivers, customer service representatives, sales personnel, and other stakeholders involved in the dispatch process.Compile route assignments considering factors such as delivery schedules, vehicle capacity, and customer locations.Ensure effective vehicle loading to maximize space utilization and minimize transportation costs.Supervise and check vehicles and drivers to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.Update the status of vehicles throughout the day, providing real-time information to relevant stakeholders. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and provide training to others to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in logistics operations.Skills:Quick learner with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, maintain focus, and adapt to a variety of challenges. Ability to conduct detailed procedures in a time-constrained environment while maintaining accuracy and efficiency. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with team members and external partners. Strong sense of time organization and urgency to meet delivery deadlines and customer expectations.
