The Senior Manager: Research, Development, and Advisory position is a pivotal role within our organization, offering an exciting opportunity to lead strategic initiatives and drive innovation. As the senior leader in this capacity, you will oversee research projects, spearhead development efforts, and provide expert advisory services to inform decision-making processes. With a focus on fostering collaboration and innovation, you will lead a team of professionals to deliver high-quality outcomes and drive positive change within our organization. This role has interpretive decision-making authority over middle management's ability to optimise resources through deciision-making regarding processesand procedures with planning programs or budgets one year ahead. Key Performance Areas: 1. Conduct research in Trade and Economics Analyse policy and political dynamics taking place in region Research trade dynamics, trends, traffic nature and volumes assessment Research regional transportation economics and corridor costs and etc. 2. Conduct research in Corridor Assessment and Strategic Analysis Environment scanning for key developments taking place in the road safety environment Corridor performance analysis Assessment of policies and legislative instruments Assessment of the cross-border road transport industry as a whole and etc. 3. Conduct research in Passenger Transport Planning and Regulation Market demand and supply analysis Modelling and trend analysis Passenger road transport policy and planning Passenger road transport legislation and regulation Cross-border passenger road transportation analysis Design of road passenger transport interventions and etc. 4. Management of Projects and Programmes New system development New product development Project time, cost, scope, quality, human resources; risk, procurement, and communicationand integration management Provide centralised and coordinated management of projects Trackinf of benefits post project implementation and etc. 5. Management of knowldge generated by the organisation Managing knowledge generated in the organisation; and Ensure knowledge management processes, procedures and systems are in place 6. Management of resources and people development Ensure understanding of objectives, purposes and achievements of sub-units Provide suitable interpretation of industry dynamics to management, team and staff within the organisation Ensure that planned activities are aligned with Agency's strategy, APP and integrate with CBRT Act Conduct operational meetings Manage and control expenditure within agreed budgets Co-ordinate industry development related events 7. Reporting Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports Prepare specific stakeholder reports when requested Behavioural Competencies: Good Communication Skills Customer Focus Teamwork and Collaboration Innovation Good Interpersonal Skills Customer Service Technical Competencies: Critical and analytical skills Reporting and business writing Presentation skills Planning and organization skills Transportation (systems) engineering expertise Transport regulation, policy, and planning expertise Transport economics, physical distribution management, and supply chain expertise Cross-border freight and passenger industry knowledge Transport geography and trade knowledge Project Management (at a senior level) expertise and experience in program management Research design and execution expertise Certified by a recognized Transport and Project Management Institution Value Creation Thought Leadership Result-oriented Ability to work under pressure Requirements Overtime requirements (From time to time) Travelling (Internationally and Locally) Qualifications NQF Level 7 qualification in Transportation/Economics/Project Management Post grade. is an added advantage Experience 10 years' experience in transportation research field and sustsinable transportation planning and sectorial projects 5 years managerial experience Market related Apply Now
