Calling all DevOps looking for a new challenge. This is an excellent opportunity for a DevOps / SysAdmin looking to showcase and develop their expertise with an established Software Development business based near Tygervalley in Cape Town. This is a position for someone that loves to work on a wide range of projects and infrastructure that all form part of the same "big picture" project. We don't suffer corporate mumbo jumbo and it is never boring. The team works from their offices near High Street Tygervalley, 08:00 to 16:30, Mon to Fri. The environment is professional yet relaxed. This is not a corporate environment and whilst we cannot afford fat corporate salaries, we are able to offer revenue sharing of projects we work on. We are looking for someone that has passion for coding and not just someone who is trying to chase the biggest pay cheques. Key Responsibilities: System administration of Linux and Windows environments. Configuration, security, maintenance, backups, monitoring. Assist with deployment of software and production environments in cloud. Be very comfortable with setting up, deploying to and monitoring cloud infrastructure. Manage databases (deploy, optimise, backup, configure, monitor). Patch and upgrade management of servers, paid products, and developed products/services. Manage server security. Configuration management. Functional monitoring of the ecosystem. Personal Attributes: Willingness to help team members when needed. At least three years of experience in a DevOps role. Linux Server administration experience and skills. This will be tested. Be very comfortable with setting up, deploying to and monitoring cloud infrastructure Practical experience with CI/CD and container technologies Avid follower of IaC will be an advantage Python and Bash scripting. Database management will be an advantage Practical understanding of distributed/high volume systems architecture and management System monitoring tools Security management Network management A critical and logical thinker Passionate about finding and fixing system problems Excited about learning new things and always up for a challenge Continuous learner Good ideas, strong opinions, a collaborative attitude and strong work ethic Our Current Tech Stack: AWS Linux - Ubuntu Docker/Portainer Caddy Nginx Auth0 MSSQL PostGreSQL Ansible
