Digital Commerce Category Insights Manager - Brackenfell

Role Purpose The purpose of the Category Insights Manager: Digital Commerce is to improve customer satisfaction and drive sales through a customer-centric, data-driven approach that supports decision-making process concerning product categories, ranging gaps and opportunities. This includes analysing online customer behavior, purchasing patterns, and market trends within specific product categories to identify trends, opportunities, and gaps in the market as well as in store ranging. By translating insights into actionable recommendations, the Category Insights Manager empowers cross-functional teams to make informed decisions on product placements, marketing strategies, pricing, and promotions. The role involves collaboration with internal teams, third-party vendors, and effective communication with key stakeholders. Additionally, the manager plays a critical role in promotional planning, store range analysis, and providing detailed analyses to improve sales. Role Description Data Analysis and Category Strategy Development - Develop and implement category-specific strategies based on analysis to increase online sales. - Conduct regular category performance assessments and provide recommendations for improvements. - Analyze online customer behavior, including purchase patterns and trends, translating this into insights for the business. - Influence online merchandising decisions through the implementation of CDTs (customer decision trees) across relevant categories. - Stay up to date on industry trends and market insights, providing competitive analysis to inform business decisions. - Work with third-party vendors to develop and execute research projects to gain deeper insights into the category. - Work together with the Head of Category Management to develop category-specific strategies by leveraging insights and analytics to identify new opportunities for growth for suppliers. Collaboration and Campaign Development - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop effective in-app campaigns and promotions that will drive category sales. - Work with the rewards and personalization team to identify customer segments and develop targeted promotions to increase sales and retention. - Work closely with the Customer Insights team to leverage off Customer and Category insights. - Maintain effective relationships with buyers to ensure decisions around tactical plans regarding pricing, promotions, and range are effective. - Collaborate with divisional teams to ensure effective category reviews. - Provide supporting information for supplier negotiations to enable effective category planning and promo activity for Digital Commerce. Promotional Planning and Analysis - Plan promotional activities, determining the right products to promote online. - Conduct store range analysis on existing and new stores to identify range gaps and opportunities to optimize product offerings, increase revenue, and customer satisfaction. - Conduct regular Category reviews based on CDT and collaborate with divisional teams to ensure effective category reviews. - Provide analysis to improve sales, margin, and relevant strategic objectives through product assortment, pricing, promotions, and product placement. - Provide performance management information on supplier performance to ensure effective supplier relationship management. - Provide detailed promotional performance post-pricing campaigns. Qualifications and Experience - Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Data Analytics or a related field - (essential) - 4 years' experience in a similar capacity or role, with proven success working with FMCG, retail, or ecommerce brands, category insights to shape and inform business decision-making pertaining to strategic sourcing, and product positioning - (essential). - Experience working with large data sets, distilling it down and shaping it in a way that delivers actionable insights and derives value - (essential) - Strong analytical skills in gathering, analysing, interpreting, and communicating complex business recommendations and data insights into well-packaged and visually appealing presentations - (essential) - Experience working with e-commerce platforms and analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, or similar - (essential) - Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines - (beneficial) - Knowledge of online shopping trends and technologies - (beneficial) Key competencies and work ethic - Category Insights and Reporting - Sound understanding of processes for data collection, processing, analysis to provide accurate reports and/or dashboards that meet the requirements of the target audience. Applies sound knowledge and skills in using data visualization tools, developing dashboards and selecting the most relevant key performance metrics in a manner that will enable insights and decision-making. - Analytical thinker and resourcefulness- Readily comprehend new and relatively complex concepts and information, investigates courses of action to identify the most appropriate solution or develop alternative solutions. Able to analyze category insights with a desire to learn more about the trends shaping consumer behavior today, and in the future. - Customer focused - obsessed about the customer and delivering a digital enriched customer journey experience. - Collaborative partnering?- Builds meaningful and sound relationships with suppliers across brands, consumer insights, ecommerce, and advanced analytics.
