The Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Teaching & Learning seeks a highly skilled and experienced professional to assume the role of Senior Digital Content Technician for the Digital Curriculum Transformation Project within the University Capacity Development Programme. As a key player in this transformative initiative, the ideal candidate will be a dynamic and energetic self-starter with a proven track record in digital content production, installation, maintenance, repairs, and studio engineering. In this role, the Senior Digital Content Technician is expected to showcase high proficiency in digital content creation, including video, podcast, and infographics. The responsibilities will span from studio engineering, installation and maintenance to repairs and contributing significantly to the functionality and efficiency of studio operations and delivering high-quality production. S/he will be required to maintain a professional work ethic, and possess strong time management, project management skills and technical expertise towards advancing digital learning. S/he must be able to function in a dynamic team, work under pressure and meet deadlines. · Senior Certificate and a 3-year relevant technical degree or diploma in electronics or equivalent. · 5 years' technical experience in an audiovisual or production-related environment with proven experience in setup, installation and repairs. · Proven track record in production scheduling and management. · High level of computer literacy and proficiency in software such Microsoft 365. · Ability to operate video camera and undertake video editing, digitisation and format conversion. · Ability to operate a Tricaster for hybrid and virtual production. · Demonstrated experience in studio engineering and managing the technical infrastructure of content studios. · Proven track record in the installation, maintenance, and repair of audiovisual equipment.
