Job Summary As a key member of the Distribution Systems team, the Distribution Systems Analyst II plays a critical role in the administration, support, and training of the proprietary GOLD scheduling system and other distribution-specific applications. The primary focus is to lead the effective operation of systems at the National Scheduling Center and Distribution Field locations and optimize system performance to achieve desired cost savings. The Distribution Systems Analyst will continuously develop and refine user training and system use, as well as conduct routine performance analysis. They also serve as a liaison between users and the GOLD Development Team to identify to report software bugs, request changes, and suggest system enhancements. The ideal candidate will be an expert user for multiple core systems (GOLD/Midas, Tel-Tank, DataViewer, Samsara, Driver Payroll, Descartes, etc.) and have the ability to quickly become an expert user of any additional systems as needed. Principal Responsibilities Support and Training Provide support for the GOLD suite of applications (GOLD, Midas, GIS, Driver Portal) Troubleshoot field-related system issues such as trip confirmation, resource modeling, shipping documents, etc. Continuously improve team skills through training and analysis on specific issues Use GOLD KPI's and other performance metrics to drive continuous improvement Conduct regular data checks and maintenance to ensure systems efficiency Champion the use of GOLD and Midas workflows Provide troubleshooting support for Driver Payroll and Auto Trip Confirmation Support customer use of NSC Online Administer, support, test and train drivers on Samsara and Descartes Be an expert in MS-Excel Have a solid understanding of GOLD database to provide ad-hoc reporting from GOLD Analyze tank upgrade analysis using EMERALD and complete analyses for other related cost-saving initiatives Additional Accountabilities Foster a positive team environment within the Distribution Systems Team Meet team KPIs Submit change requests for system enhancements or bugs to the development team Complete testing for new systems and improvements Confidentially manage Driver Payroll data Provide feedback to Distribution Planning Managers on Distribution Planner performance and training needs Crosstrain in the other Distribution Systems, such as Genesys Cloud or TFDCS Qualifications A bachelor's degree, in business, logistics, supply chain management, information systems, computer science or related field (strongly preferred) Programing experience in languages such as VBA, Java, R or Python (a plus) SQL experience preferred but not required 2 years of experience in a logistics-related field Expert User of MS-Excel and other MS Office tools Ability to work and communicate with different departments and levels of the organization Strong Customer Service skills Strong written and oral communication skill Effective in delivering training to diverse groups Prior transportation experience (preferred but not required) Availability to work occasional weekends or evenings to support system needs About Messer Messer's safety culture, commitment to providing dependable supply and innovative gas technology solutions help customers unlock opportunities to be safer, more sustainable, more productive and more efficient, so their business thrives.
