Edunova in South Africa is an educational technology organisation established in 2004, with three locations and 20 fulltime staff and over 30 interns on projects. Edunova has been delivering educational technology programmes since 2005. Edunova offers programmes to primary and high schools as well as to post matric young adults. Edunova unique experiential facilitation techniques foster and accelerate leadership and capacity development learning. The development of young adults as key education support resources in schools and school communities underpins our approach toward the work that Edunova does. Job Title: Education Programme Manager Job Location: Cape Town Report to: CEO The purpose of the Education Programme Manager is to be accountable for the conceptualisation, delivery, monitoring, and evaluation of assigned education programmes. The role provides support to civil society actors and plays a more effective, prominent and collaborative role in providing sustainable solutions for community development. Responsibilities: Programme conceptualisation Research programme concepts and industry understanding in order to conceptualise and develop assigned education programme frameworks and content Track, monitor, and evaluate assigned education programmes Implement programme management tools and processes for systematic and coordinated programme effectiveness Consolidate, track, and report on the implementation of assigned education programmes, including financial management of programmes Partnership and stakeholder management and alignment Identify relevant partnership opportunities for Edunova Manage and sustain assigned education programmes funding and implementation partnerships for optimal programme delivery Build and maintain professional relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders Manage and monitor key stakeholder engagements in relation to delivery and effectiveness for assigned education programmes Service provider management Develop appropriate service provider contracts for assigned education; negotiated for the benefit of Edunova Manage and monitor the delivery of outsourced service provider work Effective internal management Ensure effective processes and systems are in place within his/her areas of responsibility Ensure the functionality of Manco through the distinction of strategic and operational discussions Interpret the Edunova strategy and implementation to all staff People management Develop and retain competent staff by mentoring and coaching, conducting regular performance management, providing sufficient training and development initiatives, and rewarding and recognising good performers Promote a culture that reflects and rewards productivity and results, team orientation, and employee well-being Team Cohesion Support team members in their duties and contribute to a cohesive team effort Provide public relations for Edunova including liaising with relevant parties and answering queries regarding the role and services of Edunova Requirements: University degree in a related subject, preferably education Minimum of five years’ experience with a focus on education Expertise in education design and delivery Have deep sense of integrity towards work and organisation Experience in implementing and working on complex programmes Ability to lead and manage a team managing diverse programmes Should have experience in motivating and creating a positive and productive work environment for all staff members Sound understanding of education frameworks Strong development policy appreciation, particularly in education Knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling programmes Experience of Monitoring and Evaluation Understanding of financial processes and controls Appreciation of Edunova programmatic work and impact on education improvement Expert education development and delivery skills Effective leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills Ability to find ways of solving or pre-empting problems Negotiation and service level agreement management skills Relationship management and networking skills Strong English written and verbal communication skills Ability to deal with high levels of ambiguity Demonstrate professionalism and be a team player Ambition to transform society Embodies Edunova values Collaboration/partnership Integrity and ethics Conflict management Relationship building and maintenance Planning and organising Driver’s license essential and own vehicle preferable To apply, submit your CV and a motivating, covering letter to colin.robbedunova.org In line with EE targets, preference will be given to black (African) South African candidates.
