- Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems.
- Reading and interpreting electrical diagrams and blueprints.
- Performing general electrical maintenance and troubleshooting electrical issues.
- Repairing and replacing wiring, transformers, circuit breakers, and other electrical components.
- Perform MV switching operations.
- Handle and organize electrical materials and tools.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Able to work independently as well as a member of a team.
- Good organisational and planning skills as well as problem-solving.
- Ensure that all resources requirements are communicated to the Maintenance Superintendent in order to complete allocated work orders.
- Ensure that all work conducted is performed to the required standards and specifications.
- Carry out scheduled and non-scheduled repairs and installation work as required.
- Identify spares requirements and order according to departmental procedure.
- Perform inspections in accordance with the Mine Health & Safety Act regulations, manufacturing, and Company standards to report all defects and breakdowns on equipment and machinery to the Maintenance Superintendent.
Qualifications/Experience
- Grade 12 / N3 or equivalent.
- Relevant Trade Certificate (Electrician).
- 5 years experience as an Electrician in the mining industry (underground).
- HV experience in the mining industry will be an advantage.
- Valid EB / Code 8 Drivers License
