A challenging opportunity has become available for a self-motivated, highly driven, and innovative individual to join Richards Bay Terminals in Richards Bay. All suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for this vacancy. Main Purpose of The Job: Carry out corrective and preventative electrical maintenance on plant and equipment to ensure high levels of reliability and availability. Maintenance Co-ordinates activities and sequences associated with maintaining the functionality of the terminals electrical apparatus and equipment, by: Assisting with electrical duties including planned maintenance, construction, repairs and inspections Physically inspecting plant, machinery, conveyers, facilities, devices and/ or replacing defective electrical parts Maintaining the terminals electrical apparatus and equipment in a safe and working condition, ensuring that the terminal operations will be affected with the least possible downtime Planning and executing the electrical maintenance programme Co-ordinating with electricians any electrical maintenance, repairs, upgrading of related equipment Follow-up on all contract work Daily preventative maintenance initiatives Provide a weekly report on progress made on all electrical maintenance Ensure scheduled planned and predictive maintenance cycle and work procedures are compiled enabling uninterrupted and optimum functionality of machinery and plant Breakdowns - Fault finding and repairs Be available for breakdowns to Co-ordinate activities/ sequences associated with trouble shooting/ fault finding and repairing electrical breakdowns, by diagnosing faults through the application of visual and other related electrical inspection and investigation procedures Removing and replacing defective parts with re-conditioned or new spares Checking the functionality of replacement parts and executing the necessary adjustment and setting sequences Ensure faults are detected and repaired and functionality restored with minimal disruption to services Daily electrical maintenance Completes internal transactional documentation (e.g. time sheets, log sheet, progress and productivity report etc.) and related forms by: Obtaining quotes and purchasing of material and safety equipment as needed Inserting the relevant information (quantitative/ qualitative) and/ or details of activities Ensure details of activities are accurately recorded to facilitate the processing of information related to productivity personnel, time and material allocation and utilisation for specific assignments Interacting with the service providers in co-coordinating & assisting with electrical maintenance and or repairs Assist on operations shift during vessel operations act or as otherwise assigned Compliance with legislation: health, safety, quality, radiation and environmental Work in accord with the SHREQ system Evacuation routes and access to emergency equipment to be maintained non-obstructive Job safety analysis conducted per project/job Carry out risk assessment and draw up safe working procedures Maintains SHREQ requirements within area of responsibility Maintains and enforces adherence to PPE requirements Maintains and enforces adherence to ISO systems requirements. Investigates SHREQ incident reports, implement corrective measures and follow up Qualification/s: Grade 12 N4 Trade Tested Artisan (Electrical) Experience: 5 years industrial experience Good working Standards, Safety awareness, Show initiative, Managing work, Result orientated,, Interpersonal skills, adaptable, team player, Good communication skills. Preferred Experiential/ Training Background Logistics, understanding of bulk cargo environment, conveyors and bulk materials handling.
