Job Title: Anchor Location: Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa Reference : eNCA170 Contract Type: Permanent Salary: Market Related Job Summary: The purpose of the Anchor role is to deliver on-air newscasts in an informed and professional manner. 1. Planning and Research: •Researching interviews as required. •Staying abreast of current affairs in order to be ready for breaking •and developing stories. •Liaise with news producers to get a run down on planned interviews and •live crossings. •Checking scripts, writing and re-writing as required. •Arriving at least 90 minutes before going on air in order to prepare and •get make-up done. •Dressing as per the style guide. •Adhering to editorial code & social media policy. 2. Anchoring: •Anchor news shows and field anchoring where necessary. •Conducting live & pre-recorded interviews. •Chair studio panel debates. •Ad-libbing to live visuals during breaking stories. 3. Editorial Input: •Attend preparation and debriefing sessions with the team before and after •each show. •Producing news/current affairs inserts as required. •Giving input on news content which is on target for the eNCA audience. Key Performance Indicators: 1.Anchor live and prerecorded news bulletins and shows, whether in studio or on location with fluency, skill and a clear grip on news and current affairs developments. 2.Employee regularly checks updates or breaking news. 3.Employee researches and prepares for his/her own studio interviews with guests. 4.Employee successfully prepares for live bulletins including research and speaking to contacts or colleagues to get up to speed on news. Requirements: Education: A recognized Journalism qualification or equivalent experience Languages: Business English Experience: Minimum of 5 years Broadcast Anchoring experience Specific Professional Competencies: •Sound editorial judgement •Interpersonal skills •Strong understanding of the visual medium •Excellent command of the English language – verbal and written •Excellent writing skills To Apply: Click Here Application Deadline: 25/02/2022 Apply Now
