To lead the engineering schedules execution team and support the production process with adequate levels of availability, operability (sustained production rates) and reliability relating to the electrical, and mechanical aspect of production and all ancillary equipment, including the electrical distribution systems, by ensuring that all engineering related schedules, breakdowns, problems and opportunities related to all equipment in the converting plant, are attended to in the shortest possible time and in the most effective and safest manner possible. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: To support the plant's equipment availability by leading the flawless execution of engineering and maintenance schedules. To ensure that all electrical and mechanical equipment and installations comply with the OHS act and related regulations. To manage all electrical and mechanical department resources, i.e. artisans, budgets and tools, in the most efficient manner. All assigned planned maintenance completed for the month as per scheduled maintenance plan. To ensure electrical and mechanical availability of all equipment is as per agreed targets. To ensure all equipment is inspected at the scheduled intervals as determined by the OEM's and the asset care plan. To supervise all electrical and mechanical department employees and contractors and ensure compliance to safety and quality requirements and OMS schedules. To minimize breakdowns and recurring breakdowns and attend to all breakdowns as a matter of urgency. To ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. To ensure service request are attended to in accordance with the Prioritization Protocol. To work closely with the Maintenance Planner and Engineering Manager to Review and improve engineering work schedules, incorporating suggestions from artisans and operators. Ensure RCA's (Root Cause Analysis) are being done in line with RCA guidelines. To ensure all works orders for completed work are handed in according to OMS requirements. To ensure all Incidents are reported immediately. To ensure workshop and work area is kept clean and equipment is always maintained in a good condition. To ensure the company complies with company and OHS act regulations. To ensure budgets for electrical and mechanical requirement are drawn up in time and expenses against budget are properly managed. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS N6 in an Electrical or Mechanical field, with relevant trade test (with a preference to Millwright). WORKING EXPERIENCE Plant electrical and mechanical experience in a FMCG environment (preferably paper converting) with emphasis on AC & DC electrical motors and the control of them, safety systems, control systems, sensors Converting equipment, pneumatics, control panels, MCC's, LT distribution, computer-based process control systems, mechanical and electrical installations, above average computer literacy (Microsoft Office). PERSONAL QUALITIES Have an above average knowledge of the production equipment, operation and maintenance thereof. Apply Now
