To maintain and improve current maintenance systems ensuring maximum plant availability and effectiveness at the Mill, in line with best practice and international standards. Key strategic integration roles are: · Provides strategic direction and "operational excellence" strategies for Ingrain SA · Determines local plant level strategy, plans and KPIs that reflect business reality · Supports strategic initiatives at plant level · Communicates for awareness and buy-in to organizational change Drive strategic and continuous improvement initiatives at all levels and function such as TQM, SHEQ, BBEEE, competency management, OE The key outputs this role contributes to the business: CREATE ZERO HARM · Provide and maintain a safe and healthy work environment that is without risk to employees and others · Review, evaluate and analyze work environments to control, eliminate and prevent injuries · Institute control measures for potentially hazardous conditions or equipment WINNING WITH PEOPLE · Clarify and communicate vision, strategic goals, operational and departmental. · Create the environment to achieve high performing teams · Coaching, mentoring and talent development for the team · Adopt and maintain a culture of respect for others · Periodically & consistently, reward and recognize performance within the team · Live the values · Recruit & retain talent his/her pool UNLOCKING PLANT CAPACITY · Drive strategic and continuous improvement initiatives at all levels and function such as TQM, SHEQ, BBEEE, competency management, OEE · Ensure maximum plant availability and effectiveness at the Mill · Forecasting and planning for capex · Managing and maintaining assets and achieving cost optimization through an effective and efficient maintenance philosophy and approach WINNING WITH CUSTOMERS · Understand and manage internal customer relationships and expectations, ensure strong partnership exists between production and maintenance function. · Manage internal and external Service Providers DO BUSINESS SUSTAINABLY · Ensure optimal plant and equipment functioning to reduce energy and water consumption · Ensure environmental impact of operations and projects is effectively managed · Ensuring compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements · Participate in functional planning process with accountability for implementation in own areas · Managing maintenance and engineering plans, contracts and projects · Driving change, innovation and technology FINANCIAL · Forecasting, budgeting, cash-flow management and reporting · Ensuring wise spending for long-term sustainability · Improved profitability of the business, by managing maintenance costs, improving maintenance efficiency and maximizing plant productivity & availability Minimum requirements QUALIFICATIONS · Degree in Engineering · Certificate of Competency (factories) EXPERIENCE · 5 to 10 years' experience in the field · Working with boilers KNOWLEDGE · Knowledge and ability to manage P&L, budgets, financials, etc. · Understanding of all relevant legislation (LRA, BCEA, SDA,OHSA, NEMA, safety, environmental etc.) · Understanding of how to develop and implement business strategies UNIQUE SKILLS OR ATTRIBUTES • Problem solving and trouble shooting skills
