Job Title: Engineering Superintendent - Mining Industry Location: KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa RPO Recruitment's client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Superintendent to join their mining company in KwaZulu-Natal. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the engineering and maintenance activities at our mine site, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our equipment and facilities. Responsibilities: Supervise and lead a team of engineers, technicians, and maintenance staff. Develop and implement maintenance programs to ensure optimal equipment performance and reliability. Coordinate with other departments to plan and execute maintenance activities without disrupting mining operations. Monitor equipment performance and identify areas for improvement or upgrade. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards. Manage the budget for the engineering and maintenance department. Handle operational issues and troubleshoot technical problems as they arise. Develop and maintain relationships with equipment suppliers and service providers. Provide training and mentoring to junior staff members. Essential Requirements: Relevant Trade Test Certificate N6 Engineering Studies Certificate National Diploma in Engineering is advantageous 5-10 years as a Foreman with relevant experience in TMM environment, with exposure to a wide variety of scenarios and challenges and personnel management responsibilities 5 years trackless mobile machinery experience in a Plant/Mining/TMM environment experience Diesel machines, auto-electrical and hydraulic knowledge and experience Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and industry standards. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
