DEPARTMENT EPIC_Safety & Security DIRECTORATE SAFETY AND SECURITY EPIC Data Analyst Requirements EPIC, a new department within the Safety & Security Directorate, requires a dynamic, committed and passionate applicant to fill this position and become part of the dedicated team that will support the Safety & Security Directorate’s utilisation of EPIC as well as assist with the Directorate’s Digital Transformation journey. This is an exciting opportunity to join a small department within the Directorate and to become part of a team committed to improving the safety of all through the use of innovative technology. A BTECH or First Degree in a relevant field with preference to data science At least 2-5 years’ experience in data analysis or related environment Ability to analyse large data sets Experience in data models and reporting packages Valid driver’s license Competency in two Official languages of the Western Cape (English first preference) No criminal record Key Performance Areas Maintaining spatial and non-spatial attributes of database entries, security and metadata. Support initiatives for validation of data, data integrity and normalization. Compiling, analyzing and evaluating statistical data and making written recommendations to line management. Assist with the designing and maintaining data systems by utilizing tools to interpret various datasets Creating appropriate documentation that allows stakeholders to understand the steps of the data analysis process in order to replicate the analysis if necessary. Preparing reports referring to statistical data and qualitative information related to service delivery initiatives for the attention of the operations manager for consideration.
