This role is responsible for producing commercial aspects of a tender document. The incumbent will focus on getting the best price that will win the contract in a competitive bidding situation, while ensuring that the contract can be carried out profitably. Key Performance Areas: Compiling projects estimates. Preparation of technical documentation for bids and proposals. Generate proposals for prospective projects based off of drawing review and cost estimates. Develop estimating plans and coordinate from other engineering, safety & health, and business disciplines. Assist in the preparation of all levels of estimates ranging in scope and complexity from a simple factored or curve type analysis estimate to extremely complex estimates. Recommends detailed estimating procedures and techniques to be utilized in the development of estimates. Track and follow up on up on current and upcoming bids. Assist with compilation and maintenance of the company estimating database. Perform scenario based comparisons and uncertainty analysis and sensitivities on cost estimates, reflecting analysis of project risks. Proficient with Microsoft Office, with above average Excel. Experience in planning, preferably using Primavera. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Good technical understanding and fast learning competencies. Excellent understanding of cost control and scheduling. Experience in the construction / power industry with buildings, mechanical, electrical, site work and technical management will be an advantage. Must be able to manage multiple tasks and have excellent follow up skills both internally and externally. Must be self-motivated and punctual with good interpersonal skills. An independent individual, who works very well under pressure. Ability to travel to different project sites on a frequent basis.
