Job Title: Broadcast Producer Location: Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa Reference : etv149 Contract Type: Contract 12 Months Salary: Market Related Job Summary: The incumbent would be required to produce creative and compelling content for the Channel. The Broadcast Producer will provide editorial support by subbing content and updating stories. This person will also be expected to take a bulletin to air that is factual and free of errors. The Key Performance areas include but are not limited to: 1.Editorial Taking the lead in pre-production meetings when required to do so. Ensuring all content is continuously updated. Assisting in the writing of scripts, intros and headlines. Subbing content. 2.Writing Understanding of South African and global news. Ensuring stories are accurate and unbiased by verifying all content. Cutting of bytes and interviews and requesting appropriate visuals when required to do so. Responding effectively to breaking news. 3.Technical Working on the rundowns in conjuction with the Programme Editors and Assistant Programme Editors Operating in the broadcast system, Dalet. Taking a bulletin to air. Keeping track of the durations and amend when required to do so. Liasing with the technical crew in the gallery to ensure that all advertisement requirements are met and that the broadcast is of a high standard. Responding to queries from anchors when live on air and able to communicate effectively to on air staff. 4.Research Checking electronic media, social media and articles of interest Requirements: A minimum of 8 years experience in a similar role.
