FACILITIES PRACTITIONER - 12 MONTHS CONTRACT - Gauteng, Pretoria - Pretoria

PURPOSE OF THE POST To provide effective and efficient support services to employees of the Department through the provision of sound management and maintenance of facilities. DESCRIPTION OF TASKS Manage the services rendered by contractors Brief contractors on projects Contractors briefed on the scope of work Coordinate briefing sessions with contractors and ensure compliance with regard tolegislation and procedures Compliance with applicable legislation and procedures in the management of the DST facilities Develop progress reports on projects and verify invoices for the work performedprior payments. Project progress reports developed and invoices verified before payment. Develop and maintain records of work undertaken. Maintenance record system developed and implemented. Building inspection Ensure that building inspections are carried out and update inspection checklist. Updated building inspection checklist. Ensure help desk requests are allocated and attended to by maintenance officers. Help desk requests attended to. Monitor inspection conducted by maintenance officers. Quality control and efficient work done by maintenance officers. Escalate requests that would require outsourcing. Request identified for outsourcing. Draft ToR and ensure that day to day maintenance requests 100 000 are logged with the Department of Public Works Calls logged, register developed and updated. Allocation of office space Assist with the development and maintenance of an immovable asset register Immovable asset register developed and maintained Coordinate refurbishment of office space when the need arise. Refurbishment of office space conducted Attend to office space requests, identify space to be allocatedand removal of furniture. Facilitate payment of service providers Coordinate the reports based on the delivered services/goods and facilitate the payments of the service provided in line with SLA/ToR Payment submitted for processing. Maintain and submit monthly payment commitment register Updated commitment register. Manage human resources Supply appropriate tools and protective Tools and protective clothing provided Ensure procurement of maintenance equipment/tool/allocation register during repairs. Maintained equipment/tool/allocation register.
