Factory Fitter - South Africa
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Factory Fitter to join our manufacturing team. The Factory Fitter will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery and equipment in our factory. The ideal candidate should have a strong mechanical aptitude, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety and quality. Key Responsibilities: Installation, maintenance, and repair of factory machinery and equipment. Conduct routine inspections to identify and address mechanical issues proactively. Perform troubleshooting to diagnose malfunctions and implement effective solutions. Dismantle and reassemble machinery components as needed for maintenance or repair. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies while performing maintenance tasks. Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and smooth production processes. Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including parts used and work performed. Assist in the procurement of spare parts and materials for equipment maintenance. Participate in the development of preventive maintenance schedules. Continuously improve technical skills through training and staying up-to-date with industry advancements. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and protocols. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or relevant vocational training preferred. Proven experience as a Factory Fitter or similar role in a manufacturing environment. Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with various tools and equipment. Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems is a plus. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Effective communication skills. Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed. Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations. Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy objects. Previous experience with industrial maintenance software is advantageous.
