Factory Manager (Meat Casing) - Cape Town City Centre

Our client is looking for an experienced and dynamic Factory Manager to oversee their production operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the factory to ensure efficient production processes, high-quality product output, and compliance with industry standards. This role demands a leader with a strong background in manufacturing management, preferably within the meat casing or related food processing sectors.

Responsibilities:

  • Production Oversight: Direct and oversee all aspects of production, including planning, scheduling, processing, and packaging, to meet production targets and ensure efficiency.
  • Quality Control: Implement and maintain high-quality control standards, ensuring products meet both customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Team Management: Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team, ensuring a safe and productive work environment.
  • Cost Management: Monitor and control production costs, including materials, labor, and overheads, to maintain profitability.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure regular maintenance and proper operation of machinery and equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Compliance: Ensure all factory operations comply with industry standards and regulations, including health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including process optimization and waste reduction, to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and high customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Industrial Management, Engineering, Food Science, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in a managerial role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the meat casing or food processing industry.
  • Proven track record of improving production efficiency, quality, and team performance.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and quality standards in the food manufacturing sector.
  • Experience in implementing lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and manufacturing management software.
