The Field Producer would be required to manage outside broadcast and live crossings. Planning Outside Broadcasts Liaise with event organisers. Secure times and dates for outside broadcast. Arrange guests for live crossings/interviews. Conduct assessment for suitability of venue. Ensure interviews with a variety of voices. Ensure lives are conducted on time. Communication Excellent communication skills. Close liaison with Assignments, News Editors and Logistics. Liaising with Camera Department. Liaising with event organisers to get permission to broadcast from venue. Briefing Camera Operators, Reporters and Guests. Research Provide video for on-line and news desk. Check electronic media (wires), social media and articles of interest for updates. Check archives for specified and appropriate visuals to assist Reporters. Do thorough research on story or topic to be discussed. Implementation Constantly providing the News Desk with updates on stories. Ensure good communication to Assignments, Sub-Editors and News Desk. Equipment Have good knowledge of broadcast equipment for eg: SNG vans, eLink, LiveU etc. Qualifications National Senior Certificate - Essential Higher Certificate in Broadcast and/or Journalism - Essential Experience 3 years in Broadcast and/or Journalism and/or Producing Computer Literacy MS Office Suite - Basic Technical / Job Specific Competencies Contributing to team success Decision Making Managing Work Planning and Organising Risk Taking
