The Desmond and Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation (DLTLF) is seeking to appoint a finance and operations director to join its team in Cape Town. Founded in 2011, the DLTLF strives to preserve the legacy of the Tutus, while taking their example into the future, by growing and facilitating powerful and courageous voices of uncompromised bravery in the world. At the heart of our work is a mission to deepen societal healing from the wounds of injustice, inequality, discrimination, and oppression.The finance and operations director will play a crucial role in the organisation’s leadership.Key responsibilities will include:Financial management of the Tutu Legacy FoundationPlanning, budgeting and reporting (including financial reporting to the board of the DLTLF)Fundraising supportManagement of internal controlsManagement of key risksManagement of all operational systems (IT, HR etc)Management of the BuildingLeading income generation initiatives such as merchandising and venue hireThe Director will be a strong and entrepreneurial leader, who is able to identify and seize opportunities, build team buy-in for financial processes, and manage the key risks of the organisation proactively. The director will also play the role of company secretaryThe organisation is in the process of entering a growth phase, and will need someone who can lead the operational growth of the organisation alongside its programmatic scaling.The ideal candidate will have:At least an undergraduate degree in business, accounting or a similar field.
