Reference: CMF002850-LZ-1One of the biggest companies in global energy solutions manufacturing based in the East of Johannesburg is looking to hire a Financial Controller. The company deals with a balanced combination of manufacturing, and maintenance of electro-mechanical equipment they also have a footprint in sub-Saharan Africa. The purpose of this role is for the Financial Controller to be accountable for the accounting operations of the department, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the department’s reported financial results and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles and standards. Qualifications: B.com degree in accounting 5 years of work experience in a similar role in financial planning in project environment Skills: Syspro non -negotiable Sound knowledge of accounting principles, standards and fundamentals Job description: Perform any other reasonable duties required by the line manager. Maintain and monitor departmental financial controls and recommend improvements where necessary Manage financial transactions and create innovative accounting functions and processes in line with the Divisional and Group policy and procedure Performing basic analysis of accounts and accruals and preparing journal entries with documentation for all transactions Assist the line manager in managing accounts payable and accounts receivables for the department Review expenses and other transactions on the departments income statement and recommend improvements Conduct cost of sales analysis regularly to ensure the accuracy of the business unit margins against sales and recommend improvements Preparation of all financial reports required for monthly reporting (profit & loss account)and comparison with budget and forecasts Serve as a liaison with other departments, often working cross-functionally in between the operations department ,procurement department and finance department for project financial transactions where applicable Check that supplier invoices for the departments purchase have been captured correctly Supervise to improve the debtors collection, monitor the creditors process and provide regular feedback to your line manager Prepare and issue other financial reports as requested by managment Please visit our website www.communicate.co.za to submit your CV directly or to view other Finance related jobs.
