Become a maker of possible with us As Financial Accountant(Hybrid) you will be required to perform a range of general accounting duties including monthly US GAAP management reporting, local compliance statutory reporting with the support of a 3rd party service provider and to help build, review, improve and document the accounting processes. Other Key Responsibilities:- - Work on the month end close tasks including posting journals in JDE & BPC CONS, reviewing the intercompany reconciliation statement & other integrity checks. - Join in the month end close calls and contribute into the group discussions to ensure a compliant & on time close of accounts. - Coordinate with COE team to address any accounting inquiries. - Perform monthly cost center reviews for South African region. - Manage and co-ordinate all general accounting for all Finance aspects, including general accounting and reconciliation review. - Ensure all recharges in and out of entities are appropriate from a local statutory perspective with proper documentation. - Assist with completion of both direct and indirect tax returns, and all local compliance reporting. - Liaise with shared services to calculate monthly expense and corporate tax accruals. - Review monthly recharges and reconciliations prepared by shared service team. - Prepare monthly VAT /PAYEE and local compliance returns are reported correctly for the South African region. - Ensure that all records comply with US and Local GAAP - Ensure all statutory processes adhere to SOX/Local control requirements - Assist with compliance of the businesses with corporate regulations, internal controls, and other internal audit requirements - Support ad-hoc projects, including system developments, and others as necessary - Continuously work on improvement plan in terms of month end close optimization and other areas identified. - Prepare P&L trend analysis to facilitate month end close review as well as balanced sheet reconciliation for local accounts. - Understand the key drivers of fluctuation on facility cost & other non-business driven cost. - Assist with preparing statutory accounts for Africa entities and dealing with any audit inquiries. - Provide assistance to various business partners as requested. - Participate in integration relevant projects as required. About You:- - Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field - 2 year experience in General Accounting with newly qualified CA or CIMA as an advantage - Previous experience in General ledger maintenance, processes and will be able to manage multiple priorities - SAP Knowledge - Well organized and capable of working to tight deadlines - Highly self-motivated and goal oriented, - Good at handling pressure and stress - Eager to learn and good learning agility Click on apply if this sounds like you Becton, Dickinson and Company is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
