This role is within the integrated Catheter Care Injection Systems marketing organization; the largest revenue producing platform within BD. The growth strategy includes strengthening our core medication delivery devices as well as enabling expansion across 6 unique franchises - Injection Systems, Anesthesia, Disposal Solutions, Catheter Care, Securement, and Skin Prep. General Function: Reporting to the Associate Director of Innovation and Sustainability, the WW Innovation Marketing Manager will focus on early product assessments (front-end opportunity identification) and lead the innovation phase evaluation process for commercial marketing. This role sets the foundation for a transition of projects from the Innovation Phase into the Global Product Development System (GPDS), with a focus both on organic and inorganic opportunity identification and commercialization. Along with product innovation, the WW Innovation Manager will also have opportunity and exposure to new business model development through the platform's ESG and sustainability initiatives. Responsibilities: Focuses on prioritized projects in the Catheter Care Injection Systems Platform (from direction from Strategic Marketing & Innovation Teams) to assess specific business opportunities (assessing the competitive landscape, unmet need) and will influence how BD defines the addressable market and full opportunity. Supports the development of the initial product business cases with a focus on specific customer requirements and the building of the target product profile. Participates in the development and execution of marketing and commercial strategies to achieve or exceed the business unit objectives of innovation and growth for the Catheter Care Injection Systems Platform. This will include, but not be limited to stakeholder assessment, industry landscape assessment, evaluation of customer needs and requirements, identification of market shaping challenges and opportunities, and risk and mitigation planning. Supports the Innovation/Global Product Development System (GPDS) process. Accountable for completion of respective marketing deliverables to ensure commercial excellence through collaborative efforts with all levels of other functional areas (e.g., R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs, etc.). Uses fact-based data to inform key decisions, driving timely decision-making even in the face of incomplete information. Develops global marketing and related early launch plan elements for the assigned business franchise that defines 'where to play' including market size and category, market trends, segmentation, buying process, customer needs, and competitive capabilities. Utilizes and activates principles of BD Way of Marketing and Commercial Excellence to drive structured thinking and comprehensive analysis of BD's right to play and win. Effectively partners with global marketing teams, regional and segment marketing, R&D, Medical, and other functions needed to understand and action on business insights, market opportunities, and business strategy. Assists with strategic market scans and company profiling to identify, analyze, and size market opportunities through a mix of organic, inorganic, and business partnership opportunities. Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of business experience in the healthcare, med tech, or life sciences industry Business experience may include marketing, business development, mergers and acquisitions, strategic innovation Minimum: bachelor's degree, MBA highly preferred Experience in Market Planning, Competitive Analysis, Pricing Strategy, Customer Insights/Analytics, Market Opportunity Assessment and Segmentation, and Go to Market and Commercialization strategies Demonstrated strategic thinking and implementation skills; proven analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable marketing and business strategies and plans Experience in inorganic innovation identification and commercialization Ability to develop comprehensive business cases with detailed financial analysis Action oriented with demonstrated ability to drive results Exhibits effective interpersonal communication skills, and can clearly articulate value and garner cross-functional buy-in to ideas and approaches Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines in an environment of competing priorities Ability to identify and quantify clinical and outcome-focused synergies and solutions across a broad portfolio of products and programs Ability to travel nationally and globally; 15-20% For certain roles at BD, employment is contingent upon the Company's receipt of sufficient proof that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
