An exciting opportunity for a Financial Accountant(Maternity Cover) has become available within the Yachts Finance team in Cape Town. This could be the role for you The Travelopia Yachts division is an exciting and sophisticated business with three brands in two business streams - Yacht Charter and Yacht Sales. The business operates 15 bases and 6 offices, across 25 legal entities in 20 countries and in 11 currencies. The position of the Financial Accountant involves working with the Head of Finance and Senior Financial Accountant in ensuring tax, regulatory and Reserve Bank compliance for our South Africa entity across numerous business streams, including but not limited to; the sale of overseas holidays and boats and boat related equipment and utilisation of South African based resource by overseas jurisdictions What You will be doing: Responsibilities include, but aren't limited to: Gaining a strong understanding of our global business and accounting methodology applied across the group and demonstrating this understanding to take ownership for all South African statutory, regulatory and tax requirements including: Ensuring the correct contracts in place and the Exchange Control agreement with the Reserve Bank is up to date for all intercompany transactions, updating as required following business change Monthly preparation of intercompany reconciliations ensuring each transaction can be appropriately backed-up and is covered in the Exchange Control agreement Calculation of monthly recharges required to overseas entities to align with transfer pricing requirements and creation of related intercompany invoices Ensuring correct documentation is in place on transactions with overseas entities to ensure we are aligned with South African tax rules (i.e SAD 500s) Working with local advisors on the filing of SA transfer pricing report with SARS on an annual basis Preparation and submission of monthly VAT return Preparation of trial balance for the FY21 audit onwards, ensuring all required transfer pricing has been applied Being the point of contact with the local (and group if required) auditors on all intercompany transactions Preparing monthly intercompany settlement proposals and providing all related documentation required by the bank. Stock management Undertaking any ad hoc tasks, other finance duties relevant to the South Africa entity and responsibilities identified by leadership team What we are looking for: Completed Articles / Qualified Accountant 3 years demonstrable experience in the accountancy field Experience with working under IFRS and the requirements of a financial statement audit Experience with SARS and Reserve Bank requirements Strong understanding of intercompany relationships and transfer pricing Intermediate Excel expertise (i.e. v-lookup, pivot tables) Familiarity with Microsoft Suite preferred Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and manage various projects at once Ability to meet deadlines under pressure A proactive personality with strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills Experience with foreign currencies and working with multiple entities Our dedication to equity, diversity & inclusion We believe people are happier and perform best when they are able to be their true self, and that diverse teams deliver better results.
