Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements by South African Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Coordinate the year-end audit process and liaise with external auditors to ensure timely completion of audits.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to senior management for decision-making purposes.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Develop and manage the annual budgeting process in collaboration with department heads.
- Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis reports to identify areas of concern or improvement.
- Prepare long-term financial forecasts to support strategic planning initiatives.
Financial Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations, including VAT, PAYE, and corporate income tax.
- Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements, and implement necessary updates to ensure compliance.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to implement and maintain effective internal controls.
Cash Flow Management:
- Monitor cash flow projections and manage cash balances to optimize liquidity.
- Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable processes to minimize outstanding balances and optimize working capital.
Financial Strategy:
- Provide strategic financial guidance to senior management to support business growth and expansion initiatives.
- Evaluate investment opportunities and conduct financial analysis to assess their viability and potential return on investment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement financial strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
Requirements:
- CA (SA) qualification - not negotiable
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Financial Manager role.
- Strong knowledge of South African GAAP, IFRS, and tax regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting techniques.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
