To manage the timely and accurate preparation of annual financial statements in line with IFRS, CMS – Council of Medical Schemes guidelines and Scheme requirements Compliance and Risk Management: · Defined legal, statutory and regulatory compliance is maintained at the required standards · Operational risk and governance structures, measures and frameworks are complied with and necessary action is taken to address issues, when necessary Financial Management: · Contribute to cost savings within the department to assist with financial goals and targets Knowledge management: · Prepare and distribute accurate and timeous scheme management accounts / executive summary within the stipulated timeframes as per scheme Service Level Agreements · Prepare and analyse statutory returns as per scheme Service Level Agreements · Reconcile statement of financial position/ statement of comprehensive income within stipulated time frames and scheme Service Level Agreements · Correctly prepare, process and review all payments · Resolve all queries timeously as per scheme Service Level Agreements · Capture and balance all reconciliation accounts accurately and timeously to trial balance · Capture all general ledger journal entries accurately and timeously · Conduct reconciliation and reasonability tests · Ensure effective finance documentation and record keeping · Prepare finance documentation for internal and external auditors and assist with requirements Operating Model: · Meet delivery objectives through working with other team members within and linked to the department / project · Resolve operational performance variations and problems and escalate unresolved issues to higher levels · Ensure delivery targets/objectives are met and operate in a supportive manner to achieve successful delivery Operational Implementation of Strategy: · Keep up to date with operational changes implemented in response to important external influences · Deliver in a manner that supports and meets operational quality standards and meets the defined departmental priorities · Perform according to defined operational best practice and identify and implement opportunities for continuous delivery improvement Operational Leadership: · Deliver personal performance within Human Capital frameworks and policies to ensure delivery to agreed standards and objectives · Engage in development, coaching and mentoring · Support transformation through valuing diversity · Behave in alignment with the Medscheme values Stakeholder Management: · Ensure appropriate, active and informative relationships with customers and relevant stakeholders are successfully achieved · Address customer or stakeholder complaints in alignment with the policies and procedures and ensuring customer / stakeholder buy-in Position Specific Outputs · Develop New Power BI Reporting Pack · Ensure IRFS Compliance and Adherence · Develop Training and Internal Growth · Encourage Staff Job Enrichment · Deliver transparent efficient audits Competency Requirements: Attribute -Credibility: Lead with integrity and trust others as you would like to be trusted -Living the values and being transparent -Entrepreneurship: Take chances to continuously improve our Customer's experiences -Driving operational efficiencies -Influence: Engage with Customers and colleagues to advance the organisation's welfare -Making work happen -Collaboration: Build work-related network and share knowledge with colleagues -Building networks -Ownership: Make critical decisions based on what's right for AfroCentric and Customers -Owning operational decisions and knowing oneself Knowledge -Knowledge and application of relevant legislation and regulations -Understand and demonstrate agile development life cycles Skill -Neural network architecture -Change Management -Financial Acumen -Executive Business Writing Skills -Task Management -Computer Technology Skills -Communication Skills -Innovates and Takes Risks -Quality driven -Interpretation of financial statements 4 - 5 years experience in a financial / accounting position in the Medical Scheme Administration industry or auditing of medical schemes for at least 2 years 3 years Articles experience and strong exposure in financial instruments and preparation of annual financial statements. Working knowledge of IFRS statements and application of IFRS are critical Proven working knowledge of Oracle, Caseware, Excel & Word (Essential) Relevant degree, honours preferable R950 000 per annum Apply Now
