Job Advert Summary Rand water is looking for a candidate to service, maintain, overhaul and repair mechanical plant and equipment and to perform scheduled inspections, all in a safe manner to ensure plant availability. Minimum Requirements Grade 12 or Equivalent (N3 Certificate). Fitting and Turning Trade Certificate. 3 years’ experience in maintenance of pumps. Knowledge of Laser Alignment of motors, bearing, coupling etc. A valid code 8 drivers’ licence and the ability to pass Rand Water’s K53 test. Primary Duties Perform scheduled overhauls on pumps, motors, etc. Perform daily maintenance on electrical and auxiliary. Perform standby duties. Working after hours or working overtime (on request). Equipment failure identification. Follow safe work procedures. Inspections of safety equipment e.g., BA sets, slings, ladders, cranes etc. Flame cutting and welding. Rigging of equipment. Knowledge Laser alignment of motors, bearing, coupling etc. General maintenance Safety knowledge Safe working Skills Good communication skill Interpersonal skills Problem solving abilities. Initiative Analytical skills Attitude Performance driven. Teamwork Customer service orientation
