KEY FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Fleet Controlling the maintenance and repair of vehicles in the fleet.
- Receipting of daily vehicle check sheets and for reporting on all new damages and defects to the Manager.
- Responsible for daily vehicle uptime reporting and routine maintenance needs.
- Receiving and recording daily vehicle mileages from daily vehicle check sheets.
- Receiving and recording daily fridge hours from daily vehicle check sheets.
- Responsible for weekly vehicle and fridge and tail lift service schedule report.
- Completion and signing off of vehicle check sheets on delivery and collection of vehicles etc.
- Responsible to Cultivate and maintain strategic third-party supplier relationships and service level agreements.
- Quality standards.
- Vehicle quality standards are consistently maintained in accordance with Road Traffic Regulations and DQSP requirements.
- Responsible for tail lift load certification. Responsible for fridge calibration certification. Responsible for truck wash bay and cleaning schedule.
- Inspect and sign off all accident and breakdown repairs for quality assurance. Responsible to obtain and maintain truck licensing and registrations.
- Quality audits:
- Responsible to ensure that all vehicles meet DQSP requirements and passing of all transport quality audits.
- Cost control - Transport expenditure is managed within budget.
- Monitor fleet budget and assist with fleet program development.
- Expenditure is recorded in correct period.
- Accounts are accurate.
- Authorization of all replacements vehicles. Authorization of Purchase Orders.
- Assets are consistently compliant with all Company procedures.
- Continuous improvement - Process, quality, service level and cost improvements are actively pursued.
- Equipment maintenance (Trucks and delivery equipment) Assets are well maintained and good working order.
- Preventative maintenance measures are practiced preventing unnecessary expenditure.
- Reports are accurate. Report deadlines are met.
- Variance to budget/plan is explained.
- Risk management - Vehicle Inspections are conducted as per procedure. All Vehicles are maintained according to specification.
- Comply with all relevant legislation.
- Health and Safety at the workplace.
- Administration.
- Documentation is filed and organized at all times.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Good technical knowledge with training and/or experience in below fields; MAN Trucks, Grenco / Carrier Refrigeration Systems, Mixtelematics Systems as well as Tyre Management.
- Complete and up-to-date knowledge of road traffic regulations.
- Valid Code 14 EC Driving License and PDP with a minimum of 3years driving experience.
- Driver Training: Dover Test, VTS Test, Taillift license, Medical Check, Clear Criminal record, Valid PDP, Truck reverse test.
- Intermediate Computer literacy MS Excel, Outlook PowerPoint.
