Description Duties and Responsibilities Assessor:•Plan and prepare for training•Ensure all material is up-to-date, correctly printed, and bound•Print all QMS related forms•Follow the QMS Procedures and ensure all forms are signed and completed correctly•Ensure that training is timeously communicated to the employer and learners and that there is good communication before conducting the training intervention•Ensure the availability of equipment and suitability of the training venue a week before conducting the training•Tailor the material to the customers’ requirements•Conduct training professionally and with a high standard of integrity•Assess learners as per assessment principles•Assess learners' performance Training Material Development:•Modify and improve existing training material•Conduct assessment reports and assessment review within two weeks of conducting training•Motivate, encourage, and mentor learners where appropriate•Encourage learners to attend further training and development•Modify and continuously improve assessment guides, handouts, PowerPoint, and related training material to ensure continuous improvement•Conduct pre-and post-pilot evaluations on all training material•Ensure that all new material is of the highest standard (format and grammatical)Consultations•Plan the consultations according to the proposed implementation plan•Prepare the necessary FSMS documents (policies, procedures, work instructions, and forms) before the consultation•Liaise directly with the client regarding the visits to confirm visits and clarity of information prior to the visit•Coach and mentor, the client regarding the implementation of the required procedures/forms•Implement the necessary inspections with the client to ensure clarity•Conduct FSMS audits using the relevant checklist once the implementation process is complete to verify conformance to retain chain store requirements•Submit audit reports to clients within two weeks of having conducted audit•Submit the summary of audit findings on the day of the audit•Consult on other food science and related topics either virtually or in person•Consult on Health and Safety relevant to the food industry (ISO 45001)• Consult on Social Ethical Standards (SIZA, GRAPS, ISO 26000)• Consult on ISO14001, SIZA and Spring add on environmental standardsResearch•Conduct research and write up on topics or issues as per the research plan•Research relevant regulations or legislation as deemed necessary•Write monthly newsletters for publication on the websitePresentations•Conduct presentations on behalf of the company (conferences, workshops, etc)General Office Duties:•Answer telephone calls•Perform other administrative tasks as and when required Knowledge, Skills, and Attitude Required:•PC literacy, ability to write letters and emails, good telephone skills, excellent communication skills, persuasion, and negotiating skills•High level of self-confidence and excellent standard of integrity and business ethics•Ability to work independently and excellent time management skills Other Requirements:•Willingness to work overtime if required•Valid code 08 driver's license, willing to travel, willing to go the extra mile to achieve customer satisfaction•Willingness to take ownership of work performed•Entrepreneurial flair•Diligence and excellent time management skillsKey Performance Measures:•Maintaining the QMS system•Monthly reporting on progress of all training and consulting interventions•Reporting on FSMS implementation consultation according to the FSMS implementation plan•Completing FSMS implementation within the set time frames•Audit findings the clients receive•Client feedback Experience:•Science-based Honours qualification (Food Science, Biochemistry, Agricultural Science) or environmental Health•Excellent understanding of local Agricultural, Food Hygiene Legislation and Standards•Three years’ work experience as a facilitator, consultant and extension officer in Food and Beverage IndustryMinimum Qualifications:•FoodBev SETA and AgriSETA Registered Assessor and Moderator•Food Safety Lead Auditor•Degree in Agricultural Science, Food Technology or Environmental Health Further Development:•Good Manufacturing Practices Implementation and Regulation 638 training•Advanced HACCP, and Internal Auditing training•Assessor and Moderator's course•FSSC 22000, GlobalGAP and BRCGS Implementation Workshop•ISO 45001 implementation and health & safety related standards and regulations•ISO 14001 Implementation and other environmental related standards•ISO 9001 Standards implementation•ISO26000 Standards and other related Ethical standards Apply Now
