Food Technologist - Port Elizabeth
Key Responsibilities:
The Food Technologist must:
• Ensure that food safety standards take priority.
• Provide support to the manufacturing operations with regards to improving quality and productivity.
• Increase own level of understanding and keep up to date with latest technology through investigation, training, and communication.
• Ensure that products and process meet all current and impending future legislative requirements.
Implementation, Maintenance and Continuous improvement of the Quality and Food safety management systems including but not limited to FSSC 22000
MINIMUM DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
QA Systems:
Assist Technical Manager with arranging and conducting HACCP or Food Safety Meetings.
Implementation of Quality and Food safety Procedure and polices to ground level.
Control of Records Procedure:
Ensure that QA records are signed and off and completed.
Ensure that Traceability records are filled and comply with document control procedure.
Internal and External Audits-PRP001:
Conducting of Bi-Weekly GMP audits.
Participate in internal audit.
Participate in external audit and supplier visit.
Customer complaints
Recording and trending of Customer complaints.
Ensure that customer complaint schedule is up to date as per complaints recorded.
Ensure that complaints are investigated and closed out.
Ensure that the Corrective action report (CAR) is completed for all justified customer complaints.
Corrective action preventative action
Trending of NCRs
Ensure that all identified NCRs are closed, and corrective action implemented.
Calibration and verification of equipment
Ensure that calibration matrix is up to date and all calibration certificates are valid.
Sign off verification records, ensure that verification of equipment is done as per specified frequency.
Micro-monitoring procedure
Ensure that micro-schedule is up to date.
Ensure that micro non-conformance is communicated and closed.
Training
Assist in Training as per Site Training matrix.
Product Recall and Retrieval procedure:
Conducting of mock recall when required.
CCP Monitoring:
Monitoring of Metal Detectors
Verification of CCP Record
