PURPOSE OF THE JOB To supervise and assist the team in the safe and cost-effective execution of all Electrical maintenance work MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: Recognized relevant Electrical Trade qualification (section 13) is essential OR Proof of recognised completed apprenticeship contract (completed by means of effluxion of time) AND NTC 2 (Relevant Trade Theory) Qualification is essential At least 3 years working experience as an Electrical Artisan on the conveyors is essential. Advantageous 1-year minimum Relieving or Acting Foreman. Valid Medical Certificate, or medically fit in order to obtain such a certificate. Computer literacy (MS Office package) is essential COMPETENCIES: Read, interpret, and produce basic engineering drawings Perform basic fire fighting Perform basic first aid KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: Supervise the Conveyor workshop and maintenance activities. Guide, direct and assist Artisans with daily maintenance and construction activities. Maintain control of Engineering workshop, stores. Meet regularly with employees to analyse problems and maintain a healthy service and relationship between personnel and with clients Attend to callouts with regards to breakdowns Diagnose, analyse, and repair faults on equipment and machinery during production / operation. Provide adequate workshop store facility and stock levels for efficient maintenance and productivity levels Supervise maintenance of conveyors (Electrical) Plan belt extensions and maintenance,(repairs, replacement, tests) Commission assembly / machines Inspect fire suppression systems on the conveyor (FOGTECH System) Supervise the work unit to achieve work unit objectives (individuals and teams) Conduct on-the-job training and coaching Monitor performance against budget (expense controls, variances, etc.) Ensure weekly legal inspections on conveyor belts are conducted by the artisans. Conduct monthly foreman legal inspections on conveyor belts. Conduct weekly inspections on work done to ensure quality maintenance is done on conveyor belts. Conduct weekly PTOs on employees working on the conveyor belt section. IMPORTANT: Short listed candidates may be subjected to a psychometric assessment.
