The objective of this position is to assist with the receiving, dispatching and control of all stock in the Branch. Loading and offloading of vehicles and the planning and storage of all goods for the Branch. Safekeeping and care of the Forklift. Moving of goods to the designated areas quickly by means of the forklift. Load and offload vehicles safely and efficiently. Effective time management and prioritisation of work. Dispatch and receive goods. Organise materials and load goods into racks. Loading and offloading of material. Assisting with the checking of all incoming stock. Assist with assessing quality and preparation of credit request procedures for any reject stock. Assist with sorting, packing and the rotation of stock. Counting of stock, including perpetual stock counts and actual stock takes. Liaising with the Branch Team. Quick response time when serving internal and external customers and ensuring that the correct material is supplied to all customers. Handling customer documentation. Check forklift at the beginning of each shift i.e. checks for oil, water and brakes etc. Complete the forklift check sheet on a daily basis and report any defects to the Manager. Observe safety rules and regulations i.e. the wearing of personal protective equipment at all times and not stacking in front of the fire hydrants, reels or hoses. Report any accidents or incidents to the Manager i.e. accidents, injuries, collapsing stacks and damages etc. Ensure good housekeeping and that the pallets are packed straight and confirm the correct stacking heights. Ensure the cleanliness and general maintenance of the machine. Report on the condition of the vehicle to the Manager. Ensure weekly washing and cleaning of the delivery vehicle. Adhere to Health & Safety regulations. Wearing of PPE at all times. Identify any risks or health hazards and report. Ensure the warehouse is neat and tidy at all times. Work according to the company's Health & Safety Procedures and ISO 9001 QMS. Work accurately and efficiently Courteous and friendly Customer focused attitude Keen and energetic Good verbal and communication skills Grade 12 Forklift Licence/Medical 5 years forklift experience Product Knowledge Figure Literacy Experience and knowledge of stock control and movement Communication and organisational skills Work accurately and efficiently and follow instructions Experience in understanding of loading and offloading of vehicles and containers An aptitude towards and an understanding of weights and dimensions
