Reference: JHB001835-Josh-1We are looking for an experienced GENERAL MANAGER to join a leading engineering company, specializing in supplying, refurbishing, installing, and maintaining boilers and bulk hot water systems for industrial heating requirements, as well as the associated piping, electrical, and structural steelwork. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of our service driven business, ensuring efficient and profitable operations while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. Leadership and Management: Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team of professionals. Possessing versatility, you must effectively coordinate and collaborate with the department heads across Operations, Sales, and Finance. Additionally, you should nurture robust client relationships, particularly on major projects. Proven experience in Finance and Sales, strategic planning, budgeting, and resource allocation. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a high-performance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability. Experience in developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient operations. 2. Business Acumen: Solid understanding of sales and financial management principles with demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control. Well-versed in business development strategies, identifying new opportunities, and expanding the customer base. Proven ability to drive revenue growth and achieve targeted sales profits. 3. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels, customers, and external stakeholders. Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Ability to build and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, and industry professionals. TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENT: In-depth knowledge and application of mechanical principles. Proficient in utilizing industry-specific software and tools for analysis, reporting, and project management. Understanding of safety protocols and ability to enforce compliance with safety regulations. Proven track record in Finance and Sales. Project management experience will be advantageous. Control of systems and steam boilers will be advantageous. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or a related field (Master's degree preferred). EXPERIENCE LEVEL: Proven track record of at least 5 years in a leadership role within the engineering field. Knowledge of boiler and power plant systems maintenance and operations will be advantageous. Familiarity with relevant regulatory standards and requirements.
