General Manager Plastic Raw Materials - Johannesburg
Minimum requirements for the role:
- Must have a BSc Polymer Science, or equivalent tertiary qualification in Polymer Science field
- Minimum 10 years' proven commercial experience, in commodity raw materials is essential
- Experience and knowledge of regulatory requirements in the plastics industry will be required
- Must be highly numerate giving quotes, placing orders, preparing reports or working with spreadsheets etc.
- Experience in a multinational company on operational level will be an advantage
- Must have a valid drivers license and be willing to travel
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Managing the distribution of commodity raw materials to existing customers.
- Maintaining the existing customer base, as well as identifying new opportunities.
- Developing and expanding product segments with strategic importance.
- Creating and submitting offers, which includes price responsibility.
- Negotiating supplier contracts.
- Processing customer inquiries and complaints.
- Providing technical advice to customers on the development of formulations, including appropriate sampling.
- Conducting market analysis of customers, products, competitors and application markets.
- Maintaining reports and documentation in the CRM system (Salesforce).
- Performing budget and requirements planning.
- Collaborating and participating in trade fairs and customer seminars as sales promotion measures.
- Working closely with suppliers and supply chain to ensure an optimal stock holding.
