You will be overseeing and leading geospatial programs for federal government contracts. The successful candidate will play a key role in project planning, organizational leadership, and client solutions delivery. Will be onsite at various locations. Initially will be onsite in Hampton Roads, VA. Position Description: Ardent is hiring a GIS Program Manager supporting a prestigious geospatial government agency and program. We are seeking an accomplished GIS Program Manager to join our dedicated team, that has the opportunity to lead the management of complex geospatial programs and teams. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in the field of geospatial technology. As the GIS Program Manager you will play a crucial role in managing program scope, schedule, technical performance, and cost/budget. Your leadership and project management skills will be instrumental in ensuring the successful execution of geospatial programs and fostering a collaborative and productive team environment. Responsibilities: Program Management: Manage program scope, schedule, technical performance, and cost/budget effectively. Develop, maintain, and report on project plans and schedules, ensuring alignment with program objectives. Technical Oversight: Mentor and provide technical guidance to the geospatial team to foster a productive working environment. Demonstrate a clear understanding of project management methodologies and tools. Project Planning and Organization: Plan, organize, and manage project schedules, tasks, and deliverables. Coordinate with technical staff and stakeholders to ensure successful project execution. Communication Skills: Exhibit outstanding written and oral communication skills to liaise with team members and clients. Serve as the primary contract representative with the government's Contracting Officer and Contracting Officer's Representative (COR). Leadership and Team Development: Assess staffing needs, identify shortfalls, and demonstrate strong leadership skills. Foster a supportive environment committed to mentoring subordinates and promoting professional growth. Effectively manage program scope, schedule, technical performance, and cost/budget. Develop and maintain project plans and schedules, providing mentorship to technical staff. Demonstrate proficiency in project management methodologies and tools. Plan, organize, and oversee project schedules, tasks, and deliverables. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment. Serve as the primary contract representative with government officials. Assess staffing needs, mentor subordinates, and maintain excellent customer relations. Client Solutions: Lead a team in delivering client solutions, including lifecycle project planning and management. Maintain excellent customer relations and ensure client satisfaction. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Management, Information Technology, Engineering, Geography, or a closely related field. Minimum of ten (10) years of total GIS-related experience, with at least five (5) years in managing geospatial programs and teams. Demonstrated capability in applying industry-standard project management methodologies and tools.
