We want to invest in high-potential graduates who have little to no work experience and will dedicate their time to intense category planning learning for three months. After completing all interaction exam/s and assessments, we will allocate you to one of our customer accounts. Once you have proven yourself successfully on the job, we will complete a salary review. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM THIS JOB Now that you know what you can expect from us, it’s time to unpack what you can expect from this job. As a Graduate Planner working at DotActiv, your dedicated learning focus will include: DotActiv Mastery Levels - mastering our full software product suite; Advanced Merchandising and Display Techniques; Introduction to Retail; Introduction to Category Management; Account Development; Job shadowing and on-the-job learning; Leadership short courses; and Business Process training. After your training, you should be able to do the following: Create strategic assortment plans; Design data-driven floor space plans; Plan and build data-driven shelf plans; Conduct floor and space plan analytical reviews; Build ranging reports and category analytical reviews; Maximise customer and category performance by considering category strategies and plans, product financial performance, shopper psychology and aesthetic appeal; and Support, advise and guide retail customers where required. You’ll have access to DotActiv’s all-in-one category management software to complete all of the above. Requirements WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU? In our quest to find the right candidate to fill the critical position of category planner, we need to ensure they have the required skills to perform the job. We have broken the required skills into three parts: Education Skills, Knowledge and Computer Skills; and Soft Skills. Skills And Requirements A Consumer Science, Commerce degree or similar degree at a recognised and accredited university; A good understanding of English (You must be able to speak, read and write at a business proficiency level); and While not required, experience in a retail or service environment is advantageous. A valid driver’s licence and vehicle are required as you may need to travel to meet with clients. A working laptop using Microsoft Windows. DotActiv software operates on the Microsoft Windows platform. We do offer a laptop allowance included in your CTC. Knowledge and Computer Skills Computer literate with special attention to: - Intermediate MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); and - Google G-Suite/Google Docs for business. Understand the computer packages and systems currently used by DotActiv and customers (we provide all the necessary training). Soft Skills You must have excellent oral communication skills; You must have excellent interpersonal skills; You must have a high capacity to represent the DotActiv brand; You must have a high degree of internal client engagement; You must have the ability to multitask; You must be able to remain attentive in an often busy environment; You must be naturally calm and focused; You must be a team player; You must be versatile enough if participation in other types of activities is required. Here’s what you can expect from DotActiv when joining the team as a Graduate Planner: We will invest deeply in your learning and development; Your Cost to Company will be R10k; You will dedicate focus to learning for up to three months; Upon passing your interaction exam and course assessments, we will deploy you as a Category Planner; We will have a salary review with you once your deployment has proven to be a success; You will have the opportunity to upskill yourself in any field that adds value to your current position; We offer you a transparent job grading system; and We offer you a developmental path specific to your circumstances, allowing you to track your progress Commitment To Balance Out DotActiv’s Investment: To balance out the investment of your three-month training, we have attached a cost of training agreement. • This means that you undertake not to resign for a period of two years from the date of your successful deployment. • If this agreement is not upheld, you will be liable to repay the total actual value sponsored (or the prorata amount that was not yet worked back within the two-year period - R1667 each month still owing)immediately on termination of service.
