Ground Mount Quality Controller - Johannesburg
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong knowledge of solar PV technology, installation practices, and industry standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE, NABCEP).
- Trade Tested Electrician
- Wireman’s license – Installation Electrician (IE)
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills to identify and address quality issues effectively.
- Proficiency in reading engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and protocols relevant to construction sites and electrical installations.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Commission of AC/DC systems.
- Installation and maintenance of solar systems.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- At minimum 3-5 years proven experience in Ground Mount or Solar Carport installations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Quality Control Oversight
- Conduct thorough inspections of ground-mounted solar PV systems throughout various stages of installation, including pre-construction, construction, and post-construction phases.
- Ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and rectify any discrepancies or non-compliance issues promptly.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to address quality concerns and implement corrective actions.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of inspection findings, test results, and quality control activities.
- Generate comprehensive reports documenting the status of solar PV installations, highlighting any deviations from standards or specifications.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to relevant stakeholders, including project managers, supervisors, and clients.
Safety Compliance:
- Coordinate with safety officers and site supervisors to address safety concerns promptly.
Continuous Improvement:
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of installation processes.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to solar PV installations.
- Provide feedback and recommendations for process enhancements and optimization to improve overall quality and performance.
