Group Reservations Specialist Cape Town – On-site Fixed-Term As our Group Reservations Specialist, you will ensure that reservations are maximised through the booking, daily follow-up and confirmation of reservations, thereby ensuring maximum room revenue for the hotel. As one of the Rooms Division Departments, we strive to offer our guests a WOW experience by exceeding their expectations through warm, friendly, personalised service, consistent product and care for their well-being throughout their stay. We are passionate about service, operating with integrity and fostering a culture of acknowledgement and recognition amongst ourselves. Along with planning daily a schedule of work, you will ensure all booking enquiries are dealt with within a 12 – 24 hour turnaround time and that all member-specific tasks are accurately processed and completed. Such reports include rooming lists, handover, and daily banking. You will assist in achieving the monthly prescribed targets set by hotel management in accordance with the hotel's annual budget. Creating all bookings according to the procedures in Opera will be part of your duties. Your role will involve linking the correct corporate company/agency to bookings, if applicable and ensuring detailed billing instructions are added to the booking upon creation. Part of your role will be updating all channel bookings with the correct information per the emails received, providing and maintaining reports and records of all groups during and after their departure, and following up on any group inquiries. You will effectively manage any escalated queries that arise within or in relation to reservations and demonstrate strong team support in areas of responsibility and role profiles amongst co-workers. You have a Matric Certificate with a Hotel Management diploma or degree and experience in a similar position within a 4/5 establishment. You have a basic understanding of the required revenue management and how to implement yield management principles. We're looking for someone with excellent knowledge of our hotel and its surroundings and top-notch communication, basic accounting and computer skills.
