We are looking for a Head of Bookkeeping to join our dynamic team. The duties and responsibilities are; but not limited to: - Accountable for managing the Bookkeeping Department ensuring delivery of departmental objectives and workflows, with the assistance of the Senior Bookkeeper: Ensuring all Management reports, with commentaries, for sole proprietors, partnerships, close corporations, Trust, and companies, are completed within agreed deadlines, Ensuring that VAT and Payroll returns are filed by the statutory deadlines. Ensure bookkeepers are empowered to produce quality Trial Balances and complete all year-end journals post AFS compilation. Communicating and meeting with clients to manage Bookkeeping and related matters on an ongoing basis, Meeting with new clients to discuss their Bookkeeping requirements and on-boarding strategy. Mentor & coach bookkeepers to operate at a professional level. successfully manage difficult discussions with both clients and staff with skill & sensitivity. - Performs bookkeeping for key accounts, and provides management reporting to these clients, - Manages key accounts, including: exchange control regulation including the submission of service level agreement to the reserve bank for approval: manages A Customer (at times International) interactions autonomously with confidence and knowledge. - Planning and agreeing year plan for annual financial completion deadlines with the accounting department and to liaise with AFS team to ensure timeous completion of Annual Financial Statements. - Plays an active role within the Leadership Team, contributing towards to running of the company. - Attends CPD training to remain current with relative legislation impacting the department. National Diploma (Accounting/bookkeeping) Registered with recognised bookkeeping body 5 years bookkeeping experience 3 years management/Supervisory experience Skills: Leadership qualities Deadline Driven Attention to detail Accurate Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written. Team player. Must be able to work independently under high levels of pressure Market Related.
