A leading fashion retailer in South Africa is looking for a Senior Buyer to join their team located in Cape Town. To drive a customer focused product strategy with a team of Buyers, to achieve predetermined KPI's, with a focus on profitability and sustainable sales growth. To lead, inspire and coach a buying team to deliver a balanced quality assortment that is trend relevant, commercially viable for the season, and offers great value in the market. Drives on-brand product execution aligned with relevant trend input to maintain consistency of “what good looks like” To collaborate with Key Stakeholders across the business including Design, Planning, Sourcing & Production, Marketing, Visual Merchandising, Online and Sales Management to optimise sales performance and ensures product cycle alignment with product strategy. • Relevant 3 year diploma or degree or equivalent cognitive ability • 10 years Buying and product development experience • 4yrs proven leadership/managerial experience in a Clothing environment is essential. • Proven experience in delivering and executing business and BU strategy • Excellent understanding of locally and international market with a creative flair to • Interpret forthcoming moods, trends and themes • Ability to travel both locally and internationally • Excel intermediate (advantageous) • Strong numerical and analytical skills • Buying retail system experience
